Infra-Red Heaters

HL Series Two Stage Series Infra-Red Heating System

Canada is a country of widely varying temperatures from season to season. In-house research has shown a typical building requires its total designed heating capacity only 10% of the heating season.  The RE-VERBER-RAY two stage HL-2 Series was specifically developed to meet the heating requirements of the other 90% of the heating season.  The cycle time graphs dramatically illustrate the operating differences between the two stage and the single input infrared heating alternatives. The HL-2 Series, two stage technology typically demonstrates a reduction in heating cycles by 35% resulting in a energy savings of 12%, savings that continue year after year, as well as an enhanced employee comfort level.

The RE-VERBER-RAY two stage HL-2 Series infrared heaters offer more than superior fuel economy and comfort.  Through quality construction and operational features that lead the industry, you are assured that the system you install today will mean years of cost-effective heating for both new construction or retrofitted installations.

Benefits of Infra-Red

  • Market Proven Fuel Savings - 20% to 50% over conventional hot air systems.
  • Condensaiton Control -  Re-Verber-Ray ceiling mounted infraed heaters warm floors, machinery and inventory directly.
  • Enhanced Recovery and Comfort -- Infrared energy absorbed by concrete and metal releases this stored energy for an efficient temperature recovery of the comfort zone when influeneced by opening doors or cold mass introduction.

The Two-Stage Principle

Canada is a country of widely varying temperatures from season to season. In-house research has shown a typical building requires its total designed heating capacity only 10 percent of the heating season. The RE-VERBER-RAY two-stage HL SERIES was specifically developed to more efficiently meet the heating requirements of the other 90 percent of the heating season. These two graphs reproduced with permission from an RDM Engineering report, dramatically demonstrate the operating differences between the twostage and single input infrared heating alternatives. With single-stage systems heaters run on 'high-fire' all the time. With Re-Verber-Ray HL Series heaters, two-stage technology means that the "high-fire' mode is really only needed ten percent of the heating season, resulting in energy savings year after year, as well as an enhanced employee comfort level.

Overall System Features

Two-stage flexibility ensures maximum comfort and efficiency through a "calculated input differential" - the difference between "high-fire" and "low-fire" levels of operation. The overall design efficiency provides greater flexibility in new and retrofit applications through modular construction which allows radiant tube configurations accommodating 45, 90 or 180 degree elbows. Optional outside combustion air allows combustion air and heater controls to be isolated from adverse conditions. The HL SERIES is approved by the Canadian Gas Association (CGA) for vented or unvented use.

Exchanger Features

The combustion chamber tube and radiant tubes are manufactured from four inch diameter 16 gauge titanium alloyed aluminized steel and 16 gauge aluminized steel Type 1 respectively for corrosion resistance and exceed the ML 500 hour salt spray test. The exchanger coupling system utilizes a "slip fit" system, as well as a four inch band clamp for added security and a continuous linear appearance. The exterior coating of the exchanger is specially blended for maximum emissivity, corrosion resistance and architectural appeal. The final component in the system, the turbulator baffle, is designed to maximize heat transfer and minimize exhaust loss.

HL Series Two Stage Series Infra-Red Heating System

Like the sun, infra-red heaters generate radiant energy that is converted into heat when absorbed by objects in its path.  By directing the warming infra-red rays downward to heat objects and people in only "zoned" areas, the entire building volume does not have to be heated.  In addition, a system custom-tailored to your needs will result in air changes removing only secondarily heated air -- further reducing energy costs.  And these savings go on year after year!

Infra-red tube heaters offer more than superior fuel economy.  Through quality construction and operational features that lead the industry, you are assured that the RE-VERBER-RAY system you install today will mean years of dependable, cost-effective heating for both new construction, and for retrofitted installations.  RE-VERBER-RAY  quality, performance, design and construction are unsurpassed.

How It Works

The DX SERIES single input tube-type infra-red heater offers standard control of a typical heated space and may be compared with the two-stage HL SERIES which may offer additional control and savings in specific installations.

The dependable RE-VERBER-RAY DX SERIES infra-red tube-type heaters consist of three main components:

The Control Box/Burner - All the electrical components and main burner are found in the control box. A regulated balance of air and gas (with inputs from 50,000 to 200,000 BTU/h) are mixed in the stainless steel burner and fanforced into a four inch diameter, 16 gauge titanium alloyed aluminized steel combustion tube. Ignition of this mixture is achieved through the use of a reliable globar ignitor, easily monitored from the floor through a conveniently placed sight glass.

The Radiant Emitter Tube - As the radiant emitter tube temperature increases, maximum radiant efficiency is achieved and infra-red rays are emitted. The efficient design of the technologically advanced burner ensures the ultimate in heat output along the entire length for maximum radiant efficiency.

Engineered Reflector Design - Adjustable, polished aluminum, parabolic reflectors are used to direct the invisible infra-red rays downward. As a result, just like the sun, both people and objects absorb the infra-red heat energy and reradiate the heat to the surrounding area.
