Humidifiers

Model 1042 LH Humidifier

We spend most of our days indoors. It is important to control the indoor relative humidity to maintain a comfortable and healthy indoor air environment.

GENERALAire Model 1042 is among the most efficient and economical on the market.  A portion of the heated air from the furnace passes through a water-soaked pad where it absorbs additional moisture and then returns for distribution throughout your home.  Water is metered into a patented trough and dispersed uniformly across the pad.  Unevaporated water drains from the bottom of the unit to eliminate mineral build-up.  Evaporative capacities range up to 27 GPD.

Very low humidity in your home in winter can result in dry, itchy skin or dry sinuses and nose. Dry skin can crack and peel and will look unattractive and can lead to infections. Dry noses and sinuses may lead to a clogging or swelling and closing of the air passages and cause breathing difficulty at night. Choosing a GeneralAire Legacy Humidifier will improve your comfort indoors and maintain a healthy environment so you can breathe a little easier.

Desert Spring Pulsed Flow-Through Humidifier

Desert Spring Products patented Pulsed Flow-Through Humidifier offers the most effective water conservation solution in its class.

While the Rotary Disc Humidifier system is the ultimate in performance and conservation, many consumers and contractors prefer flow-through systems because they eliminate any basin water and are easy to maintain with regular disposable filter replacement. However, conventional flow-through units are highly wasteful when it comes to their water consumption and energy loss.

In recent years many companies have strived to modify their popular flow-through humidifiers by adding wicks and other design tricks to reduce the amount of unnecessary water run off. However, often the intended results are poor performance and much higher maintenance.

The Desert Spring Products Pulsed Flow-Through system is a smart and patented innovation that finally addresses the problems others have sought to solve, while keeping with the true principle of flow-through humidifier design.

The secret lies in the patented electronic water flow control that reduces demand for water by up to 80% compared to ordinary flow-through humidifiers. When in operation, the water supply solenoid valve is pulsed on for approximately 2-4 seconds, sufficient time to soak the entire evaporative pad. Upon saturation, the water valve is closed for approximately 30 seconds to allow the dispersed water to evaporate without the waste of excess water flowing into the pad and down the drain.

The electronic water flow control limits the amount of waste water which also reduces energy loss from furnace heat which is no longer transferred to the excess flow-through water normally lost down the drain.

Another great water and energy conservation innovation brought to you by Desert Spring Products.

About the Pulsed Flow-Through Humidifier

For those who prefer the convenience of disposable evaporative media, our patented pulsed flow-through humidifier saves up to 80% of the water used by ordinary flow-through humidifiers.

WATER EFFICIENT FLOW-THROUGH

Patented¹ electronic water flow control reduces demand for water by up to 80% compared to ordinary flow-through humidifiers. When in operation, the water supply solenoid valve is pulsed on for approximately 2-4 seconds, sufficient time to soak the entire evaporative pad. Upon saturation, the valve is closed for approximately 30 seconds to allow the dispersed water to evaporate without the waste of excess water flowing into the pad and down the drain. The interval times on this cycle can be changed depending on the type of furnace.

FILTER FRAME

Large 9.5" x 9.5" x 1 5/8" replaceable filter pad is encased in a disposable frame designed to retain water during the quenching cycle which further reduces wasted run-off water.

WATER HAMMER PROTECTION

Quiet and reliable operation of DCV solenoid valve is further enhanced by section of engineered rubber hose to absorb potential ‘water-hammer’ shock.

EFFICIENT OPERATION

The electronic water flow controller limits the amount of waste water which also reduces energy loss from furnace heat which is no longer transferred to the excess flow-through water normally lost down the drain.

UNIVERSAL MOUNTING

Can be used with left or right side air intake when installed on cold-air return duct. Uses standard humidifier 24VAC power input.
